NHTSA (United States) crash testing of the 2004 Prius ranked a 5 star driver and 4 star passenger rating in the frontal collision test (out of 5 stars). Side crash results were 4 out of 5 stars for both front and rear seats. The car scored 4 out of 5 stars in rollover testing.
